Interesting anagrams from any text
7
I will take virtually any type of text (a brief excerpt from a book, newspaper article, song lyric - you name it) and try to develop an anagrammed version of it that is both interesting and actually meaningful in some way.
If you're unfamiliar with anagrams, allow me to explain. Anagrams are formed by rearranging the letters of a particular word, phrase, or name in such a way that they form entirely new words. One popular example of this was one anagram created by Jim Morrison, who rearranged the letters in his name for the Doors' song "L.A. Woman" to create the line "Mr. Mojo Risin'." Anagrams were also widely used in Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code. The best anagrams are clever and inventive. But they're definitely uncanny in many cases too. Here are a few more fun examples:
Slot machines = Cash lost in 'em
Payment received = Every cent paid me
Conversation = Voices rant on
The public art galleries = Large picture halls, I bet
Election results = Lies; let's recount
Let me know what text you'd like to pull from (within a reasonable limit of a paragraph or less, of course - remember that this process can be very time-consuming and cumbersome with certain word and letter combinations if the goal is getting everything totally perfect).
When possible, I like to be able to follow the suggestions of specialists Richard Brodie and Michael Keith, who worked on "The Anagrammed Bible." They suggest that a truly good anagram shouldn't be meaningless, but should somehow reflect some of the meaning of the original words. The original letters also ought to be scrambled so much that the anagrams completely avoid the direct repeating of whole words. Brodie's and Keith's work on developing line-by-line anagrams for the entire books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon has set an incredible bar that I try to emulate in my own work.

I've had a fascination with this curiosity of language for quite some time now. Being an anagrammatist has simply been a favorite hobby of mine in my free time.
