Your Publication Design: Critiqued!
50
You have a magazine, website, newspaper or similar that you'd like to take to the next level, with the help of a design critique that will point out your strengths as well as opportunities for improvement.
I've been providing professional critiques of news publications for more than 20 years, for students, individual designers, and large publishing companies, and I can help you out to!
What I'll look at:
- typography, from headlines to labels to body text to graphics
- color use
- page architecture (use of grid) and white space
- art direction (where appropriate)
- logo and overall brand aesthetic
- navigation, ease of use, readability and similar issues
If you are undergoing an in-house redesign, I can take a look at prototypes, too. (I've redesigned news publications for years, too.) Otherwise, I'll ask to see PDFs of a sampling of recent editions of your publication, then within a week submit a written critique with specific ideas for improvement. If you have any extenuating circumstances (you may be changing format, considering a new tone or going for a new audience) let me know those, too.
