Professional Musical Critique
10
I will provide a professional critique of your musical performance. This is especially useful for students preparing for auditions or upcoming performances, but also useful for hobbyists that want pointers on how to improve.
I would only require two things to help you (either as attachments or shared through an accessible web medium of your choice):
1. A recording of your performance (mp3 preferred)
2. A score on which your performance is based (PDF preferred)
I usually charge $75/hour for my music teaching services, but I have found that sometimes other musicians just want helpful, technical feedback, and don't want a whole lesson package. This is something I'm happy to give back. If you decide that you want to work with me as a performance or music composition student, we can work out a regular timeslot and monetary compensation later - but I would have very limited time slots available.
Training & Qualifications
I have been a pianist since 3, and a composer since 10 years of age. I've judged multiple competitions for the Northern Virginia Lions Club (granting college scholarships for top-tier high school classical musicians). I've also been a full-time music educator for over 5 years, with specialties in piano performance, music composition, and jazz improvisation. During that time I've helped high school and adult students get into the colleges of their choice, including some of the top conservatories in the country:
Peabody Conservatory, Mannes School of Music, and San Francisco Conservatory (SFCM).
I've also helped other obtain more modest goals, such as simply going to college for music, improving their composition skills for their own enjoyment, or giving performance critiques to help win competitions.
