What makes Italian so special?
35
Do you know why Italians can read Dante's work, which dates from 1321 without any translation and English speakers cannot read Shakespear's masterpieces at the same ease? And did you know that the origins of Italian dialects (such as Neapolitan, Sicilian etc...) are as ancient and prestigious as the actual Italian language? And did you know that the most ancient dictionary in the world was of the Italian language, printed in 1612? I will show you the main stages of my beloved mother tongue! Well, one hour might not be enough but I will do my best to give you a glimpse of this immense subject! The lesson will take place on Zoom. You can also tell me in advance which area or century would you like to focus on and I will be pleased to dive deep in what is your main interest. I can speak Italian, English and French, so you can also decide the language of our lesson.
