Everything I enjoy comes down to words, details, and helping and educating others.

In my work life, I'm a professional Swedish -> English translator. I work with corporate documents: everything from annual and interim reports to internal memos to press releases. I was a freelance copyeditor and ESL tutor before that. Before that I spent two years teaching English at cram schools in South Korea, and before THAT I was a cave tour guide.

In my fun life, I co-organize a local writing Meetup, translate semi-obscure Swedish women writers into English, and read a lot. I also work on my own writing projects, which tend to be character-driven SF/F and literary novels. I'm a bit of a language nerd, too; I study Russian and Korean in my spare time, and try to keep up my high school German and college French. I also like to surprise people with postcards and tea and other fun things in the mail!
